So, What Are The New Mark Wahlberg Movies?

The Union (2024)

Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg will co-star in the upcoming spy comedy The Union on Netflix. Wahlberg portrays Mike McKenna, a construction worker who, upon getting back in touch with Roxanne Hall, his former high school sweetheart, becomes entangled in the world of espionage (Berry.) The plot of The Union centers on Roxanne enlisting Mike in a risky US intelligence operation in London because of his anonymity in the espionage community, which made him the ideal candidate to obtain a stolen list that contained the identities of all US spies.

Julian Farino, who directed a large portion of the first three seasons of the HBO series Entourage—which Wahlberg executive-produced and which was partially based on his experiences as a budding actor—is the director of The Union. David Guggenheim, the creator of Designated Survivor, and Joe Barton, a British writer who has experience with sci-fi thrillers like The Lazarus Project and the crime series Giri/Haji, collaborated on the script. Closest to the Hole Productions, Wahlberg’s own production company, is a co-producer of The Union.

Flight Risk (2024)

Mel Gibson, Mark Wahlberg’s co-star in Father Stu, will reteam for the latter’s next directed film, Flight Risk. In-Flight Risk, Wahlberg plays pilot Daryl Booth, a hitman who takes an FBI agent and an informant to trial before revealing he is there to kill the informant. This thriller in the sky, starring Michelle Dockery as the FBI agent and Topher Grace as the informant, is likely to provide lots of action-packed thrills.

After helming Hacksaw Ridge in 2016, Gibson’s debut feature picture as a director will be Flight Risk. Screenwriter Jared Rosenberg, who is not well-known, wrote the script for the film. According to Variety, Gibson selected Flight Risk in May 2023 after it was included on the 2020 “Black List” of the most popular unproduced screenplays in Hollywood (via Deadline). Since the beginning, Wahlberg has been confirmed to star in Flight Risk, which Lionsgate Films will distribute.

Play Dirty

Mark Wahlberg and actor-turned-director Shane Black will collaborate on the next murder drama Play Dirty, which Amazon MGM Studios is set to disturb. In the film Play Dirty, which stars Wahlberg as Parker, a thief gets shot during a big robbery, and there’s a scheme to outsmart the world’s richest man, the New York mob, and a dictator in South America. Alongside Wahlberg will be LaKeith Stanfield, Dermot Mulroney, and Keegan-Michael Key.

The original plan for Play Dirty was to get Black and Robert Downey Jr. back together. Black had previously starred with Downey Jr. in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3. Wahlberg took Downey’s place when he left for unspecified reasons. The novels written by Donald E. Westlake, one of which was previously adapted and published as Parker in 2013 starring Jason Statham, are the basis for the film Play Dirty. It’s unclear if Wahlberg’s upcoming thriller will be able to start the franchise where Staham was unable to.

Will Ferrell And Mark Wahlberg Starring Together In A New Movie

Starring together again after their successful film The Other Guys, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg tell the story of two families who have been playing football in the park between their homes for generations. Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of the oppressed clan patriarch, Mark Wahlberg, expresses his final desire for a taste of sweet revenge at their yearly Thanksgiving football game. The script is written by Scott Silveri and Robert Carlock.
