Todd And Julie Chrisley Still In Prison For Bank Fraud And Tax Evasion

The stars of ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ played real estate tycoons on their successful USA Network reality TV show before going to prison for tax evasion and bank fraud.

Todd and Julie Chrisley, disgraced reality TV stars, began their prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion over a year ago. The performers of “Chrisley Knows Best” will appear in court next month, according to their counsel. Cameras may be present to capture footage for a potential new reality program with their daughter. This is what we know.

New Reality TV Show With The Chrisley’s

Savannah Chrisley, the reality TV starlet who co-starred in “Chrisley Knows Best” alongside her parents, promised a new reality show in January 2024.

In the Jan. 23 episode of her podcast, “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley,” the 26-year-old revealed that a “less-scripted reality show” about life with the Chrisleys while Julie and Todd Chrisley are in prison is being developed with Scout Productions. Savannah has had the care of Grayson and Chloe, Todd and Julie Chrisley’s minor children, since their arrest.

A pilot was filmed, along with a sizzle reel (a type of trailer), and the idea was offered to networks. However, due to the writers’ strikes, the project was put on hold until today, Savannah Chrisley explained in the podcast.

“It’s happening,” she stated about the undisclosed show.

Who Are Todd And Julie Chrisley?

Todd and Julie Chrisley, who depicted themselves as real estate tycoons, rose to prominence with their USA Network reality show “Chrisley Knows Best,” which followed their close-knit, noisy family and their luxurious lifestyle in Atlanta and Nashville. By its seventh season, the show had attracted more than 2 million viewers and prompted spin-offs including “Growing Up Chrisley” and “According to Chrisley.”

Despite their legal issues, the Chrisleys’ reality TV series aired until they were sentenced to prison.

The Chrisleys swapped their luxury lifestyle for a prison term, surrendering to their separate prisons on January 17, 2023. Prosecutors claimed the reality TV duo was motivated by greed, as they engaged in a massive bank fraud scheme and subsequently concealed their fortune from tax officials.

Jay Surgent, the couple’s attorney, informed Radar Online in the fall of 2022 that their next court appearance had been rescheduled for April 2024. The pair’s appeal hearing was scheduled for March 2024 in Atlanta, however, Surgent stated that it has been rescheduled for the week of April 15, 2024.
