The Community Movie – Release Date, Cast & Everything Else…

The Community Movie – Trailer, Release Date, Cast & Everything Else…

The cast of the Community film continues to tease the long-awaited feature-length finale to round off the cult comedy, as And A Movie has been in development for several years — but it is still on its way. It took years for Abed’s prophecy of “six seasons and a movie” to come true, but in September 2022, Sony TV and Peacock revealed And A Movie, the feature-length follow-up to Community season 6 from 2015.

Community premiered on NBC in September 2009 and follows a study group at Greendale Community College. In 2014, NBC canceled the comedy after the fifth season, but it was revived for a sixth and final season on Yahoo! Screen. During its original run, Community had a tiny but devoted fan base, which evolved into a cult following in the years since its conclusion. It’s been a huge hit on several streaming platforms, including Netflix, and online memes have only added to the hype surrounding the Community movie.

Latest Update On The Community Movie Release Date & Cast

Weeks after actor Joel McHale announced that the film had received funding, the latest revelation confirms that an original cast member will reprise their role in the Community film. Yvette Nicole Brown gained to popularity in the series as Shirley, a devoutly religious single mother, and the comic book legend has announced she will return. Though her return was never ever in doubt, Brown recently stated, “I’m on board. And that could be a scoop because it wasn’t confirmed for quite some time.”

The Community movie’s release date has yet to be determined. However, the project appeared to be going swiftly following its introduction in September 2022, with Joel McHale talking about a Community movie table read and Donald Glover providing updates on the planned filming timetable. Though it appeared that the movie will begin filming in 2024, Jim Rash’s most recent comments suggest otherwise. Rash is optimistic that manufacturing will commence in 2025, although no formal start date has been set.

The Community Movie Has Been Officially Confirmed

It’s official: the Community movie is happening. Even while there had been discussion of a Community movie since before the TV series ended, no formal word about its development came until long after season 6. The movie wasn’t officially announced until September 2022, when Joel McHale tweeted it and tagged some of the show’s cast members. Dan Harmon returns to write the film alongside series veteran Andrew Guest, and Peacock is developing it as a streaming-exclusive project.

Community Movie Cast & Members

The Community movie cast pledges that most of the favorite characters from the series will return. When Joel McHale made the announcement in September 2022, he tagged some of the cast members, ostensibly confirming their participation. Though an official cast list has yet to be announced, it is safe to assume that the familiar faces will be the film’s main hook, and their reappearance is essential.

Chevy Chase’s Pierce Hawthorne left Community in season 4 when the character was killed off, and given how Chase left the show, it’s safe to assume he won’t be back. Erik Charles Nielsen as Garrett, Dino Stamatopoulos as Star-Burns, John Oliver as Ian Duncan, and Charles Koontz as Neil are among the notable supporting cast members who may return. Several characters who appeared in subsequent seasons of Community, such as Keith David as Elroy Patashnik and Paget Brewster as Frankie Dart, may potentially return.

Community Movie Plot

The Community movie story details have not been revealed, but it appears that fans may expect a more grounded story than some of the series’ most famous episodes. Dan Harmon indicated that fans should not expect the film to dig into some of the most popular Community components, such as the paintball and Dungeons and Dragons episodes. Harmon stated that such concepts were “the first things to rule out because it’s the first thing off the top of your head.”
