Fourth Wing Review – A Glimpse Into the World of Fantasy
Fourth Wing Violet Review by Rebecca Yarros
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros was one of those books you will struggle to put down, and we are sure many others felt the same way. Discovered the book on TikTok, where the enthusiasm increased to the point where, with the release of the second volume of The Empyrean series, both books were sold out nationwide.
A Sneak Peek Into Fourth Wing – Violet And Xaden
Fourth Wing is a fantasy novel about the main protagonist, Violet Sorrengail, as she enters Basgaith War College in Navarre. She dedicated her entire childhood training with her father to enter the Scribe Quadrant, a record of history. Instead, upon her father’s death, her mother encourages her to enter the Riders Quadrant, where she trains to be a dragon rider. Violet turns up unprepared, leaving her more vulnerable than her peers.
The Arrival of Dragon In Fourth Wing Violet
One of my favorite qualities about this book is that it is directed toward readers who are rookies in the fantasy genre. This was Yarros’ intent when generating this novel, and she succeeded wonderfully with her use of modern language and outstanding world-building.
It can be challenging to immerse yourself in a new world while acquiring how to pronounce the names of people, places, and items, as well as understand the magical systems in place. The titles of the chapters in this book are very easy to understand and Yarros does an excellent job of explaining the universe.
From the first page, you will be drawn into the cosmic scheme by Yarros’ tactics of having the protagonist contemplate the world to remain calm while executing tough tasks. This was a pretty inventive method that I had never seen used in a narrative before.
Exhilarating Fantasy Adventure with Violet and Xaden in Fourth Wing
Fourth Wing was exhilarating from start to finish, and it will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. Every phase of the challenges she has to face has readers wondering if she will survive. There are more queries such as whether Violet will form a link with a dragon. Can Violet trust the friends she makes? Why has there been a rise in attacks on Navarre?
The novel is full of subplots that are equally fascinating as the main one, and they all intersect and contribute to shaping Violet’s character, as well as the other characters. Sometimes, you will find yourself pondering what would happen next, but when it was revealed, Yarros had left many easter eggs.
Final Verdict on Fourth Wing
Throughout the plot, we realize something is incorrect with Violet; she has weak bones and frequently requires us to pop joints back into alignment. Violet has the same impairment as Yarros and her sons, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which weakens connective tissue. This supplies another level of representation to the text.
