Fallout Season 2 – Plot, Release Date & Everything We Know

The Fallout TV series on Amazon Prime Video has been oh-so-hot since the full first season debuted on April 10 — and we’re not just making a pun about the nuclear apocalypse depicted in the series. The video game adaptation, executive produced by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, stars Ella Purnell as a member of the underground bunker Vault 33 who travels to the surface to explore a postapocalyptic wasteland after nuclear war destroys society, and Walton Goggins as a mutated gunslinging ghoul living the outlaw life.

When Does Fallout Season 2 Come Out?

The good news is that Prime Video understands it has a smash on its hands since it renewed Fallout for Season 2 a week after Season 1 premiered. The first season ended on a very pointed tease, so we already have some fairly clear ideas about what we may see in Season 2, so let’s go over everything we know about Season 2, including when it might be published, what it might be about, and who might appear in it.

Will There Be A Season 2 For Fallout?

On April 10, Amazon Prime Video released all eight episodes of Fallout Season 1, and the post-apocalyptic dramedy quickly became a water cooler hit, and not just among fans of the video games that inspired the series. Given Fallout’s huge popularity, Amazon decided to renew it for a second season in less than a week. That’s about the only verified information regarding Season 2, though the final scene of Season 1 suggests we’ll be moving after spending the first eight episodes in Los Angeles.

Predicted Release Date Of Fallout Season 2

With Fallout’s renewal, co-creators Geneva Dworet-Robertson and Graham Wagner are on the clock. It took them more than two years to put together the first season of Fallout, but things should move faster with Season 2 because they’ve already created many of the sets they’ll need, such as the vaults, and they’ve presumably got a much better sense of what they want the show to be by now. However, given the size of Fallout’s production, we should expect at least a year before next season, however, two years would not be unreasonable. Let’s hope for late 2025.

Potential Storyline For Fallout Season 2

The Season 1 finale of Fallout was full of twists and reveals; I won’t go into detail since it would take too long, but you can read a synopsis at our sister site, GameSpot. At the very end of the season finale, we learned that Season 2 would transport us away from Los Angeles and into the desert city of New Vegas, the only major city in North America that did not get a direct nuclear blast when the bombs fell.

New Vegas was the major setting for the computer game Fallout: New Vegas, which takes place in 2281, only 15 years before the events of the program. That suggests Mr. House, who was CEO of robot maker RobCo before the war and was a part of Vault-Tec’s cataclysmic scheme in the Season 1 finale, could return in Season 2. Mr. House ran New Vegas in the game, and he had built the defenses that kept the town from being bombed. Similarly, two other firms participating in Vault-Tec’s plot, REPCONN, and Big MT, have headquarters in the area, which players can visit in the game.

The thing to remember about Fallout: New Vegas is that it can have several dramatically different endings depending on what the player chooses — you can help the NCR take over Vegas, an army of barbarians known as Caesar’s Legion take over, or you can help the ancient and decrepit Mr. House, or the computer that runs his casino, maintain control over the place. With the NCR ostensibly out of the picture in Season 1 and a Mr. House cameo in the Season 1 finale, our money is on the TV show proving that House succeeded. Hey, this is Vegas, and you know what they say: the house always wins.
