Not as covered, but still amazing.

On August 2nd, a whole new Pokémon TCG set will be granted liberty, and it seems like a lot of fun! Shrouded Fable will not only be superb for Pokémon card collectors (many of the graphics are influenced by Japanese woodblock art), but it will also be a major set for competitive individuals, as it will be legal at the 2024 World Championships.

What Pokémon appear in Shrouded Fable?

Shrouded Fable will serve as Pecharunt’s debut in the Pokémon TCG, and it is expected to make a rapid impact.

Pecharunt ex’s ability permits you to switch one of your Dark-type Pokémon off the Bench into the Active, and if you do, your new Active Pokémon becomes Poisoned. While this may seem to be a disadvantage at first, there are several ways we may utilize the status effect to our advantage.

If the Pokémon it is tied to is poisoned, Binding Mochi increases its damage by 40%. That is a massive damage boost, making Dark-type Pokémon much more aggressive.

Ability: Take advantage. You may draw any three cards once during your turn if any of your Pokémon were knocked out during your opponent’s earlier turn. You cannot use more than one Take Advantage Ability per turn.

Cruel arrow. This attack delivers 100 damage to one of your opponent’s Pokémon. (Do not apply Weakness and Resilience to Benched Pokémon.)

While Munkidori’s previous Twilight Masquerade card has seen a lot of use, I believe it will play second fiddle to the evident standout, Fezandipiti ex. Fezandipiti’s Ability permits you to draw three cards if one of your Pokémon was Knocked Out on your opponent’s last turn. We saw this power on Oricorio-GX during the Sun & Moon era, and the card gained a lot of play, so I expect Fezandpiti to follow suit.

However, the most crucial Pokémon from Shrouded Fable may not be any of the above. Instead, the title might be awarded to the Dusknoir line. Both Dusclops and Dusknoir have the Cursed Bomb Ability, which enables Dusclops to place 5 damage counters and Dusknoir to place an astounding 13 damage counters on one of your opponent’s Pokémon! In swapping, you must KO the Dusclops or Dusknoir.

Examples include Kingdra, Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, and Pecharunt.

Okidogi, for example, is the only huge outlier who hasn’t already been mentioned. Okidogi’s Crazy Chain strike deals 130 damage, with an extra 130 if Okidogi is poisoned. That’s an immense 260 right off the bat. Okidogi, a Basic Pokémon, hits for 300 for three energy whilst Binding Mochi is attached! Not bad!

Remember that Dark types get access to Energy acceleration using Dark Patch, thus this deck attacks hard and fast!

Where Can I Get Shrouded Fable?

Starting August 16, Shrouded Fable will be free everywhere. Check with your local card, gaming, and hobby shops to see if they have booster packs in stock. Major merchants, such as Target and Walmart, ought to have Shrouded Fable booster packs in-store and online. If you simply want the meta cards indicated above, you can buy singles from TCGPlayer and other online card vendors.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game will release a new premium set featuring Pecharunt and the Loyal Three. Today, The Pokemon Company proposed Shrouded Fable, a brand new “special” expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game that will be accessible in August. The set contains Pecharunt, the Mythical Pokemon first featured in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as well as the Loyal Three, who are linked to Pecharunt in the game’s storytelling. The set will also contain a new parallel foil design of some kind, as well as particular picture cards (sold in boxed sets) with rare drawings in the Ukiyo-e (woodblock) style.

The set will also come with the Illustration Rare cards of the Loyal Three Pokemon, which were taken out of the Twilight Masquerade set, which is due out later this month.

As a “special” set, Shrouded Fable isn’t going to be offered in individual booster packs. Booster packs will be offered primarily in boxed products that include Elite Trainer Boxes, Special Collections, and Booster Bundles.
