Silo Season 2: Everything You Need to Know About Renewal, Cast, Story, and Release Date
After pausing production indefinitely back in July 2023 amid the SAG-AFTRA strike, the Rebecca Ferguson-led dystopian sci-fi drama Silo is seemingly underway. The production has resumed in the UK and is currently underway with the cast and crew back at Hoddesdon Studios. The filming for Silo season 2 began back in June after the swift renewal of the series was given ahead of its Silo season 1 finale.
Silo Season 2 Storyline
Based on the trilogy of dystopian novels written by the author Hugh Howey, Silo follows a former engineer and a new sheriff, Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson), living in a dystopian silo that keeps people safe from the mysterious toxic conditions of the outside world. Although the inside world in the silo and the underground facility has no insufficiency of regulations for its many citizens to abide by to keep it safe, Juliette embarks on a journey as she bends the rules to try and discover the secrets both inside and beyond the silo’s walls. Juliette is adamant in her quest to find the answers to what exists outside of the Silo after the death of her partner George (Ferdinand Kingsley).
Upon receiving confirmation for the renewal of Silo season 2, the series is likely to pick up directly after the cliffhanger in season 1, where Juliette steps outside only to live.
Season 1 of Silo mainly emphasized what actually happens when characters leave the silo and how much Judicial actually knows about the outside world. Fast forward to season 2, and Silo is likely to cover up all the loose ends as it continues to expand the universe, prompting Juliette to venture and explore the outside world. Apparently, season 2 of Silo is likely to introduce new characters, locations, and storylines, along with room for further emotional and character development exploration.
