6 Best Survival Movies To Watch If You Like 127 Hours

6 Best Survival – Horror Movies To Watch If You Like 127 Hours

Undoubtedly, Danny Boyle’s 2010 survival biopic 127 Hours will live on in memory for many years, if not decades. In addition to James Franco’s outstanding performance, the film’s other components—such as its soundtrack and the still photos employed frequently to establish a unique mood and aesthetic—are also noteworthy.

Phone Booth (2002)

The 2002 neo-noir thriller Phone Booth, starring Colin Farrell in the main role, was a box office success and garnered favorable reviews from reviewers. Although it’s not a genuine story, 127 Hours and Buried seems a lot like this story.

Farrell portrays a haughty publicist in New York City who is secretly seeing someone else. He replies a second time when the phone rings after placing a call in a phone booth. He is informed by the caller that he is aware of the infidelity.

Hotel Mumbai (2008)

Similar to Buried, Hotel Mumbai garnered favorable reviews from critics despite not receiving the attention it deserved when it was first released. In addition, the cast is really strong and includes Jason Isaacs, Armie Hammer, and Dev Patel, among others.

Inspired by the 2008 Mumbai assaults at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in India, Hotel Mumbai recounts the tale of the hotel staff and surviving guests as they attempt to safely flee the premises.

The Impossible (2018)

Although Tom Holland is now receiving a lot of accolades, not everyone is aware of the positive reception he had for his feature film debut in 2012. Holland also had the opportunity to work on The Impossible with stars like Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.

The film centers on a father, mother, and their three sons who are on holiday in Thailand and are separated by a natural disaster. It is based on the true tale of Maria Belon and her family, who survived the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Gravity (2013)

Survival stories, or parts of them, are a common component in space movies, but few also attempt to include drama. And that’s just how 2013’s Gravity has been characterized: as a drama-thriller hybrid that blends science fiction and survival themes. With Sandra Bullock playing the lead role and Alfonso Cuaron directing, it’s no surprise that the film was a box office success and received ten Academy Award nominations, of which it won seven.

It centers on two American astronauts (played by Sandra Bullock and George Clooney) who are left alone in space when their Space Shuttle is destroyed. The movie is set in Earth’s orbit. Now they have to figure out how to return to the planet.

Life of Pi (2012)

After experiencing tragedy, many people undergo physical and mental changes, and Life of Pi is arguably the only survival film that addresses this spiritual aspect of the journey. Although the storyline of this film appears plausible at first, it is based on a fictional novel published in 2001 and contains numerous fantasy aspects.

The movie Life of Pi, which was directed by Ang Lee, is about a sixteen-year-old Indian kid known by the moniker “Pi” who manages to survive when a storm destroys the ship he is on. Pi discovers himself adrift on a boat, together with a tiger from the ship.

The Revenant (2015)

Without a doubt, The Revenant will live on in history as the film that ultimately brought Leonardo DiCaprio’s much-anticipated Best Actor Oscar. The film went on to win numerous more accolades and was a box office success, but given what the cast and crew had to go through, it was expensive.

The Revenant, a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is loosely based on the 2002 novel of the same name (which, in turn, is based on several other sources). It follows Hugh Glass, a frontiersman in the 1820s, as he must endure the bitter cold and recover from a bear’s vicious attack.
